I've been watching you discussing mylar films for windows.
When attending the Museum Lighting presession at AIC's conference in San
Diego this June I learned about SOL-R-VEIL  .It reduces UV considerably.
At the moment of this note I cannot find a figure for you so check with
the vendor.I'd seen it in restaurants here in the south to reduce the
heat and sun's glare. It also claims to conserve energy in colder climes
preventing heat loss in winter though windows.It is soft ,supple and
resembles mosquito netting but can be made into manual and electric roll
up blinds .Lifespan is appx 12 to 15 years. Perhaps less distractive and
more acceptable for historical house museums?
It is available in various colors and the company will even screen print
your museum logo on it. For atriums in museum foyers , motorized roll up
screens can be installed and the blinds opened and closed by hand held
remote.
I hav no pricing on it as yet.
