I recommend you contact the curator at the Helen Allen Textile collection
at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.  The entire collection is on a
searchable database (15,000 items).  It is a pretty encyclopedic
collection. The library may be online in the university system.  You have
probably already contacted the curators at the Textile Museum in DC.....
