Please pardon cross postings.

The St. Louis Cardinals lackluster season came to a smashing close
yesterday behind the big bat of Mark McGwire. Now we must wait seven months
for the next home game. Sigh. The good news for MCN '97 conference (Oct
15-18, St. Louis, MO) attendees is that they will not have to compete with
all those World Series fans who will be elsewhere for the October classic!

Friday's registration report held the following registration numbers for
pre-conference workshops (Oct. 15). Most workshops are half day, with
either morning or afternoon indicated in parens following the title:

SGML in the Real World (a.m.) 16
Making your Site Interactive (a.m.) 5
Making Museum Information Accessible (a.m.) 2
Making the Transition, Part 1 (a.m.) 11
Strategic Technology Planning (a.m.) 8
Strategies and Tools for Documenting Images (Full Day) 10
Implementing the EAD (p.m.) 8
Implementing the CIMI DTD (p.m.) 6
Making the Transition, Part II (p.m.) 9
Using Intranet Tools in Museums (p.m.) 17
Multimedia Tools (p.m.) 4
Copyright Issues in Digitizing and Using Museum Collections (p.m.) 14

Some workshops are filling up, some still have space left. If you plan to
participate in a workshop but have not yet registered, do so today! Full
descriptions of the workshops, other conference information and
registration materials can be found online at http://www.mcn.edu. Please
contact me at [log in to unmask] if you would like materials mailed to you
via snail mail. Meet us in St. Louis!
