I am looking for a source of 1880's beds which would have be suitable
for transport in rough conditions, much like British campaign furniture.
What I am looking for is NOT a cot or folding canvas bed, but rather a
light transportable bed made sturdy and compact enough to be taken into
heavy wilderness areas on the frontier but that is still quite stylish.
The majority of sources I have for reproduction beds and antiques, deal
mostly in bed types made in new england in the late 1700's and early
1800's or work along civil war lines.
Does anyone know of a reproduction firm or antique dealer who deals in
British campaign furniture of the 1870's & 1880's?
Sincerely,
Noel Ratch
