After almost 9 months of trying to make Questor's Argus for Windows function
on our peer-to-peer network, (Questor assured us peer-to-peer would work
when we bought the program about 2 years ago) we are investigating the
purchase of new equipment & either Novus or Windows NT software to run a real
network system. These are the only network softwares listed under Questor's
current hardware/software recommendations.
Oddly, after a week of hounding Questor for contacts among their current
clients running on a network, they could only manage to find one name. We
can't help but wonder if that museum is really the only one using network
software, or is it the only one successfully using network software with
Argus for Windows. So...
-Are any other Questor clients running on a network, and what
problems/successes have you had?
-Any words of wisdom from the general museum world on running networks?
Thanks
