With apologies for possible duplication - I didn't see the first or second
attempts show up on the list.
Photographer/Curatorial Assistant
A new, temporary 12 month position is being created to assist with the
relocation, recataloguing, and photodocumentation of museum collections being
moved to a new storage/exhibit facility.
Responsibilities include photography of objects in color and B/W, developing
and printing B/W film, labeling/filing slides, and record-keeping.  There
will be occasional work photographing architecture, people and events.  There
is object examination and cleaning, the handling and packing of museum
objects (with lifting of heavy objects required, sometimes up and down narrow
stairways), and data entry in a collections database.
B.A.; M.A. from a museum studies or photography program preferred; computer
database familiarity; organizational skills and reliability; ability to work
independently as well as collaboratively; valid drivers license.
Appointment begins August 1997
$8.50/hour, 35 hour week, benefits.  Free housing; utilities except for
telephone included.
