JOB OPENING
Director of Marketing and Development
Indianapolis Art Center

Full-time, salary range low- to mid-$30s with excellent health benefits.

The Indianapolis Art Center has an immediate opening for a Director of
Marketing and Development.  This poisition is responsible for developing and
implementing both short- and long-term development and marketing plans
consistent with the organization's mission, values and goals.  As part of
that effort, this position:

- Monitors development and implementation of annual fundraising plans and
ensures funding for special programs and events.

- Writes and/or reviews all organizational and fiscal-agency grant proposals
and reports, and tracks submission and reporting schedules.

- Identifies, researches, and cultivates major donors in tandem with
executive/board leadership to secure major capital, endowment and planned gifts.

- Educates, trains and motivates staff, board and volunteers to ensure that
all fund raising programs are consistent with the overall mission and
philosophy, and that marketing concepts and strategies permeate
institutional mores.

- Monitors the development and implementation of annual marketing plans.

- Develops policies and procedures to ensure integrity and accuracy of
communication vehicles.

- Reviews and monitors all marketing, public relations and publicity
publications/advertisements for adherence to goals and objectives.

- Supervises Development and PR Associates.

Requirements for this position include at least 5 years experience in a wide
range of fund raising activities, including membership development, annual
campaigns, grantwriting, direct mail, major donor solicitation and planned
giving.  Significant experience in public/media relations, publications, and
marketing preferred.  Must possess outstanding verbal and written skills and
computer literacy.  Experience with Raiser's Edge fundraising software a
plus.  B.A. or B.S. in related field or equivalent required.
