FULL-TIME POSITION AVAILABLE
Software Developer

The mission of The Tech Museum of Innovation is to serve as an
educational resource that engages people of all ages and backgrounds in
exploring and experiencing technologies affecting their lives, and to
inspire young people to become innovators in developing technologies of
the future.

The Tech Museum of Innovation is seeking a programmer with a variety of
technical skills and experience to support several ongoing engineering
projects. The Software Developer is a full-time, exempt position
reporting to the Network & Exhibit Engineer.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Develop software to support The Tech's evolving exhibit intranet and
automated exhibit maintenance infrastructure.
* Adapt existing software or systems to operate securely and reliably in
a hands-on, "public attraction" environment.
* Prototype software-based exhibits for eventual deployment in The Tech's
exhibit galleries.
* Assist in the development of technical standards and API's provided to
exhibit developers and outside contractors.
* Test, analyze, and document all technical standards and specifications
to be used in Tech exhibits and operations.


REQUIREMENTS:
* Demonstrated programming experience in C/C++ on UNIX and Windows
platforms.   Java programming experience or JDK familiarity is highly
desirable.
* Software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting experience on
Windows and UNIX platforms.  Hardware experience is a plus.
* Familiarity with TCP/IP networks and protocols is highly desirable.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Ability to meet deadlines and multitask among several projects.
