Research Coordinator for Arts Initiatives
Community Services, City of Edmonton
1 temporary position, up to 16 weeks
DEADLINE: Wednesday, 28 May.
The objective of this position is to:
-research, design and develop tools needed to successfully develop arts
programs.
-identify resources and connections that need to be established in order to
perform the tasks.
-survey staff and community partners to identify priorities.
-develop 'Program Packages' using collective input from those presently
offering arts programs.
-research information on public art programs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
-completion of the twelfth school grade, enrollment in Recreation
Administration or related program.
-good verbal and written communication skills.
-interest in arts.
-knowledge of conducting surveys.
-background in program development and delivery.
HOURS OF WORK:  33.75 hrs/wk.
SALARY RANGE: $9.96-$12.31 (hourly).
GENERAL PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:
-position is pending union concurrence and Summer Career Placement grant
funding.
-must be registered full-time students during the 1996/97 academic year and
intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the 1997/98 academic
year.  Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.  Do not have another full
time summer job.

Visual Culture Animator
Latitude 53 Society of Artists, Edmonton.
12 week full-time position.
DEADLINE:  Friday, 30 May @ 4:30 p.m.
The goal of the project is to provide a comprehensive examination of the
society's history that will support the work of the 25th Anniversary
Committee and improve patron and membership understanding of the Society's
past and current direction.
The successful candidate will have excellent research skills, and superior
oral and written communication abilities.  Technical proficiency in desk top
publishing is an asset.  The ideal candidate will have an interest in art
history, public relations, and the contemporary art scene.
Funding for this position is provided through the Young Canada Works in
Heritage Instititutions program, sponsored by the Department of Heritage.
You must be between the ages of 16 and 30 to apply.
