Dear Museum-L'ers,

Erik P. Mansoor <[log in to unmask]> just forwarded a warning about a new
"virus" called AOL4FREE.COM that should have all sorts of horrible effects.

I received the same notice last week and forwarded it to our Hotline, who
kindly sent me the following url that describes this and numerous other
hoaxes and REAL viruses in detail. The above "virus" is 100% harmless, but
a Trojan Horse version of it is NOT. Check the url below for details on
these and other viruses before sending out warnings. The url is updated
regularly.

www.symantec.com/avcenter/hoax.html.

According to this page, the above "virus" is a completely new hoax.

I might add that the path of the warning I received suggested that some
people had too much time on their hands - note the person after "X-aliased"!
