You got me there Greg.  I didn't express myself well in that posting.  Yes,
you do need to get your foot in the door somewhere and I have no
problems with offering opportunities to "at risk" youth, unwed mothers,
etc., but I still think that a person should have some minimum
qualifications.  Speaking broadly, this need not be limited to a college
degree, direct museum experience, etc.  Many volunteers/interns come
with experience from jobs in other fields.

Cant agree with you on this one Laura.  You've got to get your foot in the
door somewhere, and prior museum experience/volunteerism doesnt
need to be a pre-requisite for a first time internship -- and frankly,
volunteers need just as much supervision and mentoring as an intern
does.
