Wouldn't it be a good idea to buy UV sleeves for the fluorescents? Are
the bulbs U-shaped or just straight? Light Impressions sells the UV
sleeves for the straight ones, and that could be a way to offset a very
expensive renovation of your lighting system. Another way to set up the
lighting is to have it on a grid system, with certain sections turned on
only when needed. I'd suggest you call the Autry Museum about the
lighting system. But the sleeves would be your best low maintenance bet.

There is a manufacturer out there that sells UV treated fluorescents;
give me a call and I'll give you the vendor's name. Just can't think of
their name here at home.
