Position Vacancy - Director/Curator

The Director / Curator of Blandwood is responsible for the overall
management and development of the house museum.  Specific areas include:
collections management, facilities management, marketing & public
relations, program development, volunteer management, budgeting and fund
raising.  The Director / Curator is directly supervised by the Executive
Director of Preservation Greensboro, Inc., but works closely with the
volunteers of the Blandwood Guild in the ongoing operation of the museum.

Qualifications: Four year degree with background in museum management,
history, non-profit management or similar combination of education and
experience.  Salary in the mid-20's.

Blandwood is a nineteenth century house museum depicting the lifestyle of
a well-to-do family in the rural south.  Blandwood was the home of
Governor John Motley Morehead from 1823 to his death in 1866.  It was
designated a National Historic Landmark in 1988 because of its unique
Italian Villa design created by noted architect Alexander Jackson Davis.
The museum is open for tours Tuesday-Saturday from 11am - 2 pm and Sunday
from 2 - 5pm.  Our website is under construction and should be available
