It should also be pointed out that people value classroom teachers (in
terms of money) more because the school experience is mandatory.  The
learning encounter in the museum environment is at the learner's
descretion.  In other parts of the world were museums are a function of
the state, I would guess the classroom educator and the museum educator
have a closer parity of salary.
