The Cleveland Museum of Art is currently seeking a part time lighting
technician to join the Design Department staff. This position is part time
(30 - 40 hours per week).

Position Summary: Install, maintain and relamp lighting equipment
installed in galleries, temporary exhibitions an other public areas of the
museum.

Essential Duties:
(Other duties may be assigned)

1. Relamp or repair lighting units installed in the public
areas of the museum using ladders,scaffolds, and other high reach
equipment.

2. Work with the Chief Designer and Lighting Designer to install and focus
lighting in special exhibitions, gallery renovations and as needed in
other public areas.

3. Maintain safe levels of illumination in accordance to the museum's
Conservation Department.

4. Initiate repairs, replacements, etc from work orders, visual
inspections and verbal instructions.

5. Maintain inventories of lighting supplies on a weekly basis.

Education and/or Experience
BFA in lighting related field (museum or theactrical); with at least three
years realted experience (or equivalent combination of education and
experience).

Special Skills/Knowledge
Knowledge of Macintosh based word processing, spreadsheet, and database
programs desired. Drafting skills and experience with Mac based CAD
programs helpful. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
is a MUST.
