I just figure that if an institution is so short-sighted that they will
not even consider the possibility that someone with experience can be as
qualified as someone with an advanced degree, I probably do not want to
work there. There have always been some people who are effective,
self-motivated learners. If you don't want them on your staff, I'll be
happy to consider them (along with the MA's) for mine.
