I know I'm taking the easy way out, but does anyone know anything about
the BOSS Washing Machine Co.? We have one of the machines in our
collection. It's wood with wood agitators and metal gears. A similar
machine appears in Sears 1908 catalog but made by Curtis. The wood base is
elongated, vs. the round wooden tubs made in the early 20th century. Also,
has anyone heard of ACME washing machine company? I'm not making this up.
It's a square galvanized tin tub 20" x 22" with a wood cover and wood
agitator. Any references also appreciated.
Thanks.
