With all this talk about leaving off the subject line when unsubscribing I ran
a test. In the nearly 6 years I have worked with this list and with Listserv
software I have never had an e-mail bounce back from the Listserv because of a
subject line.

And following my test, I was right. The subject line is of no consequence to
listserv.

What does matter:

1. Some mail progams will add an extra line so you are really starting on the
second line. Not good for Listserv.

2. Extra words such as please and thank you. Everyone should exercise common
courtesy in their e-mail, but the Listserv software really doesn't care. If
anything, it gets confused at the extra verbage.

3. Signature files. Really doesn't matter. You'll get an error for each line of
your sig file, but as long as the first line is correct, no problem. I have
left my signature turned on and have gotten lots of error messages to go along
with the one line of success.
