I highly recommend Carl Erickson, an exhibit designer who recently
retired from the New York State Museum. He lives in Troy, NY and
can be reached at 180 Fourth Street, 12180; 518/274-6867. Carl has
worked on several exhibitions with me when I was director of the
Rensselaer County Historical Society (also in Troy), and we found
him to be a terrific designer with a great sense of color and object
placement. He really is responsible for upgrading the entire look of
the exhibitions at RCHS. He also understands the importance of the
messages of an exhibition. He loves challenges, and can work within
budgets. Because of the nature of the history museum, Carl is
expert at working with a variety of artifacts and materials. PLUS,
he's an awfully nice guy.

I would be happy to speak with you about the specifics of the
projects he worked on with us if you would like.
