Subject: Eco-museums and mankind

Isn't it amazing how its always men who act as if you're tediously prissy if
you object to terms like
'mankind'.  Either they are constitutionally incapable of understanding
semantics, semiotics or communication theory, or they understand it all too
well.  Our language defines our views, attitudes and relationships, if it's
inherently patriarchal and exclusive, narrow and self-congratulatory, so,
alas, are we.  Try using 'humanity' - it's easy enough.
