In graphics we used to use interns from a group called the Great Lakes
Colleges Association. They had satellites in various major cities and
brought in colelge students from the mid-west for a semester of work and
"urbanization." You had them for 4 days a week (they had a class on the
fifth day, I think) and the deal was: you weren't allowed to pay them! The
flip side of that was that you had to teach them; you couldn't just use
them for couriers, scrubladies, etc. Worked like a charm!
