New Jersey's Morris County is fortunate to have a great little railroad
museum in the Whippany section of Hanover Township. Located on the
property of the Morristown & Erie Railway along busy NJ Route 10 only
several miles east of Interstate 287, the Whippany Railway Museum is
convenient to the millions of people residing in metropolitan NJ/NY.

Annual festivals are a rich tradition of Whippany Rail Museum with this
year's being co-sponsored by the United Railroad Historical Society:

                     A FABULOUS FIFTIES WEEKEND

Saturday, September 7 11 am to 6 pm
Sunday, September 8 12 noon to 5 pm

Come to Whippany NJ and celebrate the Golden Era of the Diesel
Streamliner.. the 1950's! Recall the days when colorful and powerful
"cab units" pulled glamorous air conditioned Pullman-style hotels on
wheels to far away vacation and business destinations.

See 1950's vintage railroad locomotives, freight and passenger equipment
and cars, trucks, buses from that decade, plus other surprises!

Historical diesel train rides are scheduled to depart the Whippany
Station at 12, 1, 2, 3, and 4 p.m. Adults only $6.75; kids under 12
only $3.75 and infants in arms are free. Sorry, no advance ticket sales
for this event.

Scheduled rail equipment displays include: Morris County Central steam
locmotive #4039, Erie E-8 diesel, Lehigh Valley F-7 diesel, B&0 VO-1000,
Reading RS-3 diesel, Central of New Jersey GP-7 diesel, Pennsylvania
Railroad Observation Car "Mountain View" and more...!

Proceeds from the festival will benefit the NJ Railroad and
Transportation Museum Historic Collection and the Whippany Railway
Museum's Locomotive #4039 Restoration Project.
