Well, there was the one museum I visited (name withheld for
soon-to-be-obvious reasons) that had a wonderful odor of decay in the WWI
trench exhibit. In fact, there seemed to be a dead mouse rather near the
exhibit....

Seriously, though, I believe it was "Daniel's Story" at the Holocaust
Museum in D.C. that I recently visited that had scents. They were of
cookies or pie (I forget) in the kitchen of his house.

I find smells to be a very memory-invoking thing. Even if I am allergic to
them, they are almost never in such a large concentration to trigger a
reaction, or even be smelled outside a very small area, for that matter.
