Hello there. I'm new to this list and enjoying people's comments.

I'm doing a study on the reasons why performing arts are currently being used in museums, mostly
on the U.K. but interested also in examples from all over the world. I'm interested in to what extent
their use is motivated by a financial gain (corporate hire of the museum as a venue for their own
event, or larger visitor numbers) and to what extent the performing arts (including dance, music,
acting, living history (as long as the actors don't come 'out of character') etc.) are being used to
convey messages to the visitor, and how this is being done.

I would love to hear from anyone who can recommend reading (preferably British as it is generally
easier to get hold of over here) related to the subject, or who could relate their own experiences of
projects such as these.

Thanks!
