I looked at this posting and thought it looked a bit like any director's
position in a small institution. Underpaid, overworked, and involved in a huge
variety of tasks.

While it's fair to assume that a small institution director will probably do
most of this stuff in some form or another, I think that the problem arises
when one attempts to catalogue the tasks needed in a small organization and
place them in a job description like this one. It then tends to look colossal,
overwhelming and somewhat obnoxious, particularly when combined with statements
about evening and weekend hours, etc. These are details that can be hammered
out during the application process. Again, it's a matter of perception. Anyone
working in a small organization is going to expect a fair amount of schedule
juggling and, if they have the missionary zeal that seems to infect everyone in
this profession, they'll do what it takes to do the job well.
