My feminist grandmother collected 19th century books mostly to do with
etiquette, creating the model domestic life, home remedies, beauty, child
rearing etc. as well as compilations of various magazines such as Century
and Harpers.  While my cousins and other guests delight in reading these
when visiting the summer cottage, they really might  be better in a more
controlled environment where they are accessible to others.  As an
alternative to dividing up the collection among various cousins, is there a
library or archive where these might particularly fit in?  There are
probably one to two hundred volumes, though I haven't counted.  The
collection is in Connecticut and my grandmnother lived much of her life in
New York City.  Please e-mail me off the list.  We are not interested in
selling these to a dealer.
