I'm not so sure about the two children, but what about the old Disney movie
from the 60's about a boy (Tommy Kirk?) who kept turning into an English
sheep dog (Shaggy Dog). There was something about an old ring once owned by
a bloody thirsty woman of the Lucretia Borgia type.  There was an old
"absent minded curator", (no candidate for Mr Most Sexy) and a lot of
creeping and crawling around scarey museum collections (with wax figures!)
in the dark.
