The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, MO, is looking for a
person to fill the position of assistant preparator for installation.
JOB DUTIES:  To assist in the transportation, installation, and
deinstallation of art objects.  Will also assist in the construction
of custom mounts, brackets, and hanging devices for works of art.
Will also work closely with other department to solve problems
involved in the installation, production, and maintenance of museum
exhibitions.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:  BFA or BA in art history or other related field is
preferred.  Must have mechanical skill, good dexterity, and be
conscious of safety issues.  Must have good organizational skills and
the ability to juggle multiple priorities and competing projects to
meet established deadlines.  Must be able to interact with internal
staff as well as with visiting public in a polite and courteous
manner.
