A couple of weeks ago there were quite a few postings regarding affixing
accession numbers to artifacts. The Upper Midwest Conservation Association
(UMCA) in Minneapolis, Minnesota, has put together an Artifact Numbering Kit
that sells for $40. The kit includes everything needed to properly number
your 3-D artifacts, textiles, etc.... It also comes in a handy plastic box
with tray separators. If you would like more information on this kit, please
contact UMCA at (612) 870-3120.

Also, for all the listserv subscribers in Ohio and surrounding states, the
Ohio Association of Historical Societies and Museums (OAHSM) is sponsoring 4
Brass Tacks Workshops in 1996, titled "Ink to Artifact." (locations: Akron,
Xenia, Sandusky, Columbus) The workshops feature extensive hands-on
activities and the registration fee is just $15 for OAHSM members and $20 for
non-OAHSM members. For more information, contact me.

Best, Michelle
