I would be grateful to have recommendations, or caveats, from colleagues who
have had recent experiences any of the major museum/nonprofit fundraising
firms. We are especially interested in experiences revolving around
state-wide or regional capital drives.
We are facing that age-old debate about whether to obtain professional
management for a future major capital drive or to stretch staff time and
resources and manage the campaign ourselves. Having done both, I know
currency of information is of great value. If we do go with professional
services, we would like to find firms that do more than charge six-figures
for pep talks and "cookbook" campaigns.
