Slide presentation by anthropology professor Laurie Wilkie on her
rescue archaeology project at Zeta Psi Fraternity on the UC Berkeley
campus. Soon after her arrival on campus, and quite unexpectedly, professor
Wilkie was given the opportunity to excavate this fraternity house site,
uncovered in the process of constructing the Law Library. She quickly
mobilized available anthropology students and began to take samples of
material from the site. Using historical records and photographs, analysis
of excavated materials and interviews with fraternity members-class of "31
--and other alumni, she and her students hope to reconstruct an acurate
profile of Berkeley life during that time. (Apologies for multiple copies)
