That's good. I am a "Collections Care Professional" (for lack
of a better term. BTW, the term, I believe, is AIC's). The
collections in question are too far and wide-ranging for me to
possibly belong to all the relevant professional groups. For
instance, we have the portraits (studio) of the governors,
usually in the Capitol Bldg but over here currently while they
paint. That's in addition to the books, maps, photos, archives,
the model of Maison Caree that Jefferson had made in France,
etc., etc.
There's ALA (& parts), SAA (ditto), AIC (ditto the SIGs), and
so forth. I once tried, belonged, for instance, to AAM. But on
a Virginia public employee's salary - especially after what
they have just done to us - there's not enough money.
Point is, publicizing something only through AAM (or any
association) channels may miss a substantial lot of interested
parties.
