I am working on my dissertation on the Chicago Historical Society and would
welcome some input from the Museum-L community. Two questions:
(1) Does anyone know if any museums/historical societies are engaged in
exhibitions or public programming that specifically focus on neighborhoods,
ethnic communities, local communities? CHS is engaged in this very
interesting "Neighborhoods: Keepers of Cultures" project and I wanted to
compare it to similar efforts around the country/world.
(2) Does anyone know if any museums/historical societies have established
Community Advisory Boards either for specific exhibitions or for the
institution in general. Again, CHS is involved in formalizing a Community
Advisory Council and I want to compare notes.
I would greatly appreciate any information regarding these two related
issues--names, contacts, documents explaining such programs.

you.
