I left the NYU Museum Studies program because I wouldn't do a free
internship and refused to pay the school for the credits it required
along with the credits for writing a thesis. The majority of the
students in the program seemed to be either faculty family members
(and so don't pay) or on Fullbrights.

I figured I was better off going off on my own and working for free on
something I would at least have equity in.
