Want to breathe new life into your fund-raising program? Look to the heart of
your museum's mission: the care and conservation of your museum's collection.
"Capitalize on Collections Care: A Fund-Raising Workshop" will explore ways in
which institutions can effectively incorporate collections care and conservation
into their fund-raising activities, taking advantage of conservation's unique
visual qualities to motivate potential donors by showing them the tangible
results of such financial support.
Whether your institution's goal is to improve your exhibits, expand your
education program, stabilize your museum's environment, upgrade your storage
facilities or increase your membership and attendance, it is your collections
that ultimately motivate individulas, foundations, corporations and state and
local governments to support your efforts.
This one-day workshop will demonstrate a variety of successful, creative
approaches to integrating collections care into such basic fund-raising
strategies as annual appeals, capitol campaigns, planned giving and
adopt-an-object programs, invigorating your fund raising and benefiting both the
care of your collections and the institution as a whole.
Speakers and panelists have been selected to represent a wide range of
institutional types (art museums, historical societies and historic house
museums) and funding projects (from modest cooperative ventures to major fund
drives).

Registration fee is US$45. The fee covers lunch, breaks and informational
material. For those wishing to arrive the night prior to the workshop, housing
on 31 May and breakfast on 1 June are available for $25. Prepayment is required
and should be made payable to the Campbell Center. Please register by 15 May.
