        Mystic Seaport - The Museum of America and the Sea
              announces a

        *Museum Education Internship*
              June 20 - August 23, 1996

Museum Education Internship:  Eight days of training, four days per week of
museum teaching, and one day per week seminar, workshop, field trip and/or
project.  Thursday, June 20 through Saturday, August 24.  The ideal
candidate will have made a career choice and have prior experience and
college course work in museum education.  The internship demands an
energetic, enthusiastic person who feels comfortable working outdoors with
families and large groups.  Museum teaching assignments include our
Children's Museum, Discovery Barn, and KidsToday activities.  Seminars and
workshops include program development and evaluation, grantwriting,
professional affiliations, innovative techniques, and project management.
Housing and a stipend of $500 provided.  4 positions available.  To apply,
