we got the inheritance of of Edwin Welte about 10 years ago, he was the
inventor of the reproducing piano. In the meantime I learnt and collected
a lot of objects, knowledge and nearly everythings else concernig this
matters.
But we still do not know, how they recorded the piano rolls.
In Poughkeepsie, NY, was the recording piano of the American branch of
Welte & Sons Inc., Freiburg and New York.
Possibly this piano or other rarities stil are undetected in your
magazine ?!
But I am still happy to find piano rolls with music, who seemed to be lost
(last year two recordings of Hindemith and three of Ernst Toch).
Please give me a note, if you know about the whereabout of such objects
-or you have heared about it.
Yours truly
Gerhard Dangel-Reese
