Curator of Exhibitions and Artifacts
This unique position will require an object-oriented individual to divide
time equally between exhibit development and all aspects of artifact
collections care and management.
Archives and SCWIM requires a highly enthusiastic, self-motivated,
multi-talented and creative professional to design, fabricate and install
temporary and long-term interpretive history exhibits for a progressive
and active archives. Applicant must be an equally experienced and
productive professional to assume responsibility for various aspects
artifact collection manangement to include research, storage,
cataloguing, accessioning, loans, etc. This full time professional
position reports to the Director of Archives and University Art Programs.
Will work as a team player to develop, implement and manage exhibits and
artifacts collection as related to outreach driven archival programs and
activities. Must be personable and flexible to work within an intimate
environment, able to communicate with a wide variety of people, have
demonstrable organizational skills, strong people skills, and excellent
verbal and written skills.
Qualifications: Graduate degree preferably in art history, history,
museum studies, library science or related field with a complimentary BA
in design, art, art history or related field, plus 4 years combined
curatorial/design/archival experience. BA holder with extensive work
experience as described above will be considered. Knowledge of artifact
perservation techniques, appraisal, arrangement and description.
Experience with automated cataloguing systems required.
