We have used PDB for several years with no detrimental effects to
staff. We do indeed monitor for the posted effects on humans. This
material has been sold and is still available in bathroom deodorant
blocks. It seems curious to find such a material in use in commercial
restrooms yet discouraged for pest control.
Have there been any known case studies of medical treatment for PDB
impact?
I have a great deal of problem with putting "sex traps" for clothing
moths in the collection. I have no desire to attract the things to
our facility.
We inspect for insects at least 4 times weekly and have found no pests
in over three years of treatment with PDB.
The napthalene products have a reputation for degrading silk which is
another reason we use PDB.
