Several questions regarding collections care training have been posted
to the list lately. I am posting this on behalf of the Campbell Center.
The Campbell Center for Historic Preservation Studies is a non-profit
organization which offers a program of mid-career training for museum
staff in collections care. Courses are offered from mid-May through
mid-October, and range in length from the 4 week long Core-Curricula in
collections care to shorter, more specialized courses dealing with single
types of material (textiles, photographs, works on paper, &tc.) or one
aspect of museum operations (mount making, matting, packing & shipping
museum collections, computerized collections record management, &tc.)
Thanks to the support of NEH and NEA, the Center is able to offer
scholarships for a number of the courses offered. Those wishing a copy of
the current course catalog or to be added to the mailing list should
