I am negotiating the donation of a series of photographic images. I plan to
use these commercially in a Web and CD-ROM application. The images are
unique historical photos of ethnographic and archaeological objects in situ.
Their quality is excellent.
The photographer holds all copyrights, and is willing to assign all rights
to the images to the Museum. He will also assign all royalties, any funds
raised by the museum through the sale or use of these images will go to the
museum.
The donor would like a receipt for tax purposes. While I have heard many
rumours of evaluation schedules for this type of thing, I have no concrete
comparative examples.
Can anyone provide me with such comparisons, or know of a commercial company
which purchases such images with copyrights?
Thanks
Barbara
