In order to introduce some useful humor here, how about a contest? Tell us
about the 25 (or less) things that drive you crazy! Dealing with patrons,
funny experiences that happened in a museum or library, typos on labels,
silly questions (from patrons and others), etc..

If this is too silly a suggestion, please let me know (I seem to be a bit
lightheaded today, too many WWW sites...).
------

I do not think introducing humor is silly but I do think asking everyone to
write their anecdotes to Museum-l is very silly. If everyone writes 25
anecdotes then I will spend a lot of time tapping my delete button. I read
Museum-l to get info, not entertainment. For entertainment I read novels,
watch TV, yell at my kids, etc.

Please do not send your anecdotes to Museum-l. Instead please send them to
the originator of this idea, Anita Cohen-Williams at
[log in to unmask], who can then collate them, arrange them by
subject, throw out the obnoxious, etc., then send one message to Museum-l
that we can read or delete with a single stroke.

Sorry to be a killjoy, but I do not want to waste time separating the
information from the other stuff. For me, the ratio of useful to other on
this list is getting dangerously close to where I will have to unsubscribe,
and I do not want to do that because there is good info exchange here, when
it is not too diluted.
