Has there been any scholarly work done on the depiction of Eros/Cupid
variously as a putto/cherub and as a post-adolescent male? In
particular, has there been any attempt to correlate the representation w/
the social attitudes toward love & sex in the surrounding society?

I've consulted the Library of Congress online catalog, with meager
results; if there's a better place to look, or a tricky subject heading
(I used both Cupid--art and Eros--art, got a few unpromising-looking
titles), please advise.

Much thanks.
