PUBLIC PROGRAMMING ASSOCIATE for The New Museum of Contemporary Art, NYC
The New Museum of Contemporary Art seeks a Public Programming Associate to
play a key role in the planning, development and implementation of public
and educational programming and assist in the administration of the
Education Department. Candidates must have experience in organizing and
facilitating panels, workshops and events, strong knowledge of contemporary
arts, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work as part of a
team.
Responsibilities
* Work with the Curator of Education and education and curatorial
staff to conceive and implement a range of public programs and
professional seminars.
* Coordinate the Museum's internship program
* General departmental correspondence and administrative support
* Maintain the Education Department's budgets
* Representative of the Museum's educational and programming mission
Qualifications
* Excellent organizational skills
* Extensive knowledge of contemporary art and culture
* Administrative experience
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Computer literacy and research skills
* B. A. or equivalent in relevant field, M.A. preferred.
Salary: $22,400 plus health and dental benefits for 4 days/week ($28,000
full-time salary prorated to 4/5 time)
