    Regarding the freezing of objects...

    I cannot remember the source I read a few years ago
    regarding this, but some of the key points are:

    The temp. must be very cold (30 below zero I think) for several
    days in order to kill all types of bugs and their eggs.

    Items should be carefully wrapped in several layers of paper to
    help prevent moisture damage.

    Hygroscopic materials and composite objects can be
    damaged in the process and many will not freeze well due to the
    change in dimensions caused by the low temp.

    I also remember a recommendation that only certain books,
    textiles, and large peices of furniture should be frozen as other
    objects run too high a risk of damage.  For example, books with
    wooden bindings are not recommended.

    I wish I could be more specific...anyone out there have a good
    source of info on this?
