Hank,

C'mon, be a little more generous. I don't think the question as to whether
the Vermeer show is suitable for children necessarily meant that the author
was worried about her children's tender sensibilities. She probably wanted
to know if the National Gallery provided any labels, gallery guides or other
interpretive materials that would help kids get something out of the show,
or if she should send them off with the NGA kids' guide the permanent
collection so they won't be bored and hate standing around wondering why
everyone is saying that these are a sizable fraction of the finest paintings
in the world.
