There is currently a very interesting exhibition at The Sackler in
D.C. on the prayer paintings of Indian women, in which women from
the sub-continent, now residing in Washington, come in and create
a painting at the entrance to the gallery. There is a posted schedule
of which weekends they will be there and the resulting artwork is
done on a raised, circular dias about one foot above the floor.
There are no barriers and the painting remains there until the next
woman's session.
