As a graphic designer, I can suggest that size and spacing may have more to
do with readability than font does. Avoid fonts that are extremely
condensed or expanded, fonts that are extremely thick-and-thin (such as
Bodoni) and script or italics for more than a word or two. Helvetica or
Futura are good for sans serif, Times, Baskerville, Caslon, Garamond are
good for serifs. Another good rule of thumb is to keep your line lengths to
50 or so letters (about 2-2.5 alphabets-worth).
