For a simple reply, Yes.  I am afraid that I don't know what a MARC
format is, but I do know that they have been developing STAR to work
on a number of platforms.  Just to give you an indication of some of
the recent users of the system:  Anne Frak House (Netherland) Federal
Trade Commission, The New York Public Library, Museum of Modern Art,
John Paul Getty Museum, Museum of American Folk Art (New York),
Chapman & Hall, etc.

Far from being archaic as suggested eslewhere it is incredibly
fexible and continually under development (upgrades free).  I am not
a computer person but I can create databases and reports, without too
much work and brow sweat.

I suggest that you try and find out a little bit more about STAR.
Give them a call and ask for further information outlining your
requirements.  Also ask them to give you contact numbers for
establishments near you who use the system.  That way you will get
honest replies to honest questions.

Can I again emphasis that I am not a computer person, but that I find
the system very usefull for the kind on multi-disciplinary collections we keep.
