For the ultimate beginnings of "executive" camping, again check out the
Henry Ford Museum. Henry and his camping buddies (John Burroughs, Thos.
Edison and Harvey Firestone Jr.) had a tremendous caravan of camping
vehicles (including water truck). The dining tent had a lazy susan table
about ten feet in diameter. And of course the chef too! You have to see
pics of this to comprehend how they "roughed it".
